5 Email Marketing Examples

In this article we’re going to cover five email marketing examples you can use in your own campaigns. Basically, email marketing is an automated system and this is where passive income can happen.

Once you set it up, it keeps working while you’re busy doing something else. And that’s the path to true financial freedom.

To set up your automated campaign, you first need a lead magnet like a free ebook, for example. Then you offer that free ebook to your followers on the social media platforms that you have a presence on.

When people see your offer and want it, they’ll give you their email address in return for the free download. Their email address is then added to your autoresponder where you have a sequence of follow up emails to send to your new subscribers.

These follow up emails allow you to introduce yourself to your new subscribers so that they can get to know you and what you do. This is called ‘warming up’ your readers. Make sure you provide them with lots of good information that they can actually use.

Once you’ve warmed up your readers, you can then send them some promotional content in your emails to encourage them to purchase products that you’re an affiliate for. Remember, people will only buy from you if they like and trust you.

Ultimately, email marketing is a wonderful way to build relationships with your readers so that they get to know, like and trust you.

So, let’s look at some different email marketing examples that you can use.

1. The Email After The Free Offer

Let’s say that your free offer was for some workout exercises that you compiled into a PDF. In the follow-up email, you could ask your readers how they’re going with the exercise routine and whether they’re struggling with any of it.

If they’re out of shape, they may be experiencing sore muscles. Consequently, you could offer them a foam roller that they can purchase to make exercising easier. If you’re not in the business of selling exercise equipment, you can always join Amazon as an associate and add the link to a foam roller on Amazon. This way, every time someone purchases it or another product from your link, you’ll receive a commission.

2. Use Reverse Psychology In Your Subject Line

In other words, you can tell your readers that they don’t have to do a certain thing to achieve the solution to their problem.

For example, if you’re promoting a weight loss program, you can say something like “Don’t Do Strenuous Cardio Vascular Exercises If You Want To Lose Weight”. You could then go on to explain that your readers can still lose weight by simply eating right and doing gentle exercises. They don’t have to go to the gym and start lifting heavy weights to achieve their weight loss goals.

This is what I call reverse psychology. You tell your readers not to do something and then explain what they can do instead.

3. Share Your Pain

This is where you share your own experiences with the products that you’re promoting. You can explain to your readers where you were at before you found the product and then explain the benefits you gained from using it.

You can even go as far as explaining all the things that you did wrong to try and fix the problem that you had. As your subscribers read this, they might relate to what you’re saying and then wonder what you eventually did right. So, you could add a catchy tagline at the end of the email to tempt your readers to want to know more.

Then, in the next email you could explain what you did to solve the problem. In fact, if you spread this out over several emails, your readers will be eagerly waiting for the next instalment.

You could include these short emails in your larger sequence or make them a campaign in their own right.

4. Use A Double Opt In

There is some controversy around using a double opt-in. Some people say not to use it because you’ll lose a large number of potential subscribers while others say that you get a better quality list of subscribers by using it.

The main advantage of the double opt in is that you know that your subscribers really want to be on your list because they took that extra step to confirm their subscription.

In addition, there are some countries in the world that require double opt in, so you could lose those potential subscribers if you don’t have it.

If your list is starting to get quite large, you might want to consider using double opt in because you can afford to be picky about who joins your list.

5. Tell Your Readers That You Appreciate Them

Telling your readers that you appreciate them is a great way to say thanks for reading your emails. But, you could take this one step further.

Choose a charitable organization that you want to support. Let your readers know that you support this charity and that you donate 10%, for example, of all the profits that you make from sales.

Then in your email say something like “for everybody who clicks on this link, I’m going to donate an extra dollar to this charity because I really appreciate you hanging in there with me and becoming my friend”.

This not only shows your readers that you appreciate them but also that you’re the type of person who likes to give as well.
