4 Data Entry Jobs You Can Do To Make Money Online

In this article, we’re going to discuss how to earn money other than on YouTube. My videos talk a lot about creating a YouTube channel and how you can create different income streams through this channel. But this time I want to discuss something different.

A lot of people ask me how to make money online. They don’t want to sell things on Poshmark or Facebook marketplace because it seems like too much trouble. If you are interested in promoting products without having to have your own inventory, check out my free ebook on affiliate marketing. But many people want to figure out how they can make money online without having to sell something.

Yes, you can make money by completing surveys. That’s a big one. I know a lot of people do it, but it’s not very lucrative from what I’m hearing. I’ve never done it myself, but I know other people who have. This got me thinking about what I would want to do.

So I thought, what about data entry? Anybody can do that, right? If you know how to type, you can go to a company and do data entry for them. I’ve done this before myself.

It’s a great way to make some extra money while you’re waiting for that thing that you’re going to do in your life. Even if you have a job and you’re looking for something on the side, this is a great way to make some extra money.

What Is Data Entry?

Data entry is when you take a hard copy of something like a sales receipt, address form or other information and put it into the computer. For example, think of the form that you have to fill in when you go to the doctor. Nowadays, a lot of doctor’s offices get you to fill in a digital form before you get to the appointment. But, what about all those old forms that were filled in manually?

Someone has to type all that information into a database and that someone could be you. And, this is something you could easily do from home. That’s exactly what data entry is.

Personally, I think this could be an interesting job. You can work your own hours and you just need to keep track of the amount of time you spend working.

A lot of companies that hire data entry workers will have some type of digital timer that you can use to keep track of your work hours. So, let’s look at some of these companies that hire data entry people.

CloudFactory.com

To find out more about this company, I went to Glassdoor. While there, I could see the different positions available and the type of salaries that are being offered. You can do the same with any company that you’re trying to get information about. Especially if you want to find out if they’re legit.

Flexjobs.com

This is another company I found and they offer quite a lot of flexible jobs that you can do from home. I did a search for data entry jobs and found quite a number of listings that have availability in different states.

Microworkers.com

I thought this company was amazing. They do have data entry jobs but also a lot of other types of work as well. So, if you’re not keen on data entry, there are plenty of other opportunities.

You just have to scroll through the available jobs and find one that resonates with you.

How Much Does A Data Entry Person Make?

One of the questions that you might be asking is, how much does a data entry person make?

I went and googled this because a lot of these companies don’t tell you upfront unless you enter your information and subscribe. I found that on average, data entry salaries are around $27,000 to $41,000 per year. The average hourly rate is around $19 per hour.

That’s not bad for simply doing data entry. Plus, you have the flexibility of being able to work your own hours and from wherever you want.

Kendall Creek Communications

This company is a little different from the others because it requires you to have some experience. It’s a government agency that contracts jobs out to other people.

So, if you wanted to work for them, you would do so as a contractor. To do this you would have to contact them and bid on certain jobs that you’re interested in. This means that you’ll actually be in business for yourself and you’ll have to pay your own taxes.

This would be a great way to start your own business and work for different agencies.

But, whether you choose to work as a contractor or just for one of these companies, data entry is really big right now. There’s a constant need for companies to turn their hard copies into a digital format. This generally takes a lot of time, especially if there’s a lot of data to enter.

You could even approach some of your local nonprofit organizations. For example, I volunteered at a pregnancy decision health center a couple of years ago. At that time, all their data was still in physical files. In fact, there was an entire wall of files that would eventually have to be converted into a digital format.

There are definitely plenty of opportunities out there if you go looking for them. Whether you look online or in your local community. Most importantly, this is something you can do in your own time and make some extra cash.

Anyway, I hope that this has been helpful for you and has given you some ideas.
