How To Create A Video Watermark For YouTube Videos

Have you ever wondered how people create those watermarks on their videos? Would you like to learn how to create a video watermark for your own YouTube videos? In this article, I’m going to explain exactly how you can do this, so read on.

When you’re watching a video, you’ll usually see a little subscribe button. This is also called a watermark. I’m going to show you how to create one just like this and how to install it on your own videos. And, they’re fun to make. Plus, you can change them out anytime you want.

Editing Your YouTube Channel

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about.

A lot of people put a red button here that says subscribe. But, you don’t have to say that because you can put anything that you want there. To show you how to do this, I’m going to change mine out.

If you click on it, it will take you to their channel where you can hit the subscribe button. So, how do we do this?

What you need to do is go to your channel page by clicking on your picture in the top right hand corner. Then, select “customize channel”.

Once you’re on that page, select “branding” on the top left.

Branding your channel

For those of you who have been around for a while, you might remember that we used to do this over in settings. But, YouTube have made some changes that seem to make more sense.

On the branding page, you can change your photo, your channel art and your video watermark.

As you can see, I already have a watermark on my channel but I’m going to change it so you can see exactly how it’s done.

To make it easier, I’m going to start from scratch so if you’ve never made a watermark before, you can see how to do it.

Finding An Image

First, we need to find an image. To find a suitable image, I went to Google and searched for “money sign”. Now, you’re probably aware that you can’t just download and use every image that you see because of the copyright laws. Because you’re using your YouTube channel to make money, you have to be very careful to follow all the laws.

So, how do you get around that? How can you find free images that are not bound by copyright? It’s quite easy actually. When you’re looking at all the images on the search result page, you click on “advanced search”, scroll all the way to the bottom and select “creative commons”.

If you don’t like any of the images that you now see, you can adjust the search term to find exactly what you’re looking. Remember, you’ve already selected “creative commons” earlier so any further searches that you do on that same page should only show you the images that are free to use.

Once you’ve found an image that you like, you can download it to your computer. You can either do this by using a snipping tool or you can right click on the image and then select “save image as”.

Removing The Background

Sometimes, the ideal photo that you want might have a background that you want to remove. You can do this very easily by going to this site – https://www.remove.bg/upload.

Simply upload your image and the program will remove the background for you. It’s a very useful tool that you can use to remove backgrounds on any images that you have.

Turning Your Image Into A Logo

Once you have the ideal image, you can create a logo by using Canva. If you haven’t used Canva before, here’s the link – https://www.canva.com/

Once you’re logged in, just click on “create a design” and then select “logo”.

Then, just upload your image and center it on the logo template.

You can then download your logo onto your desktop to use on Youtube.

Adding Your Watermark Logo To Your YouTube Channel

You can now upload your watermark logo to your YouTube channel. Go back to your “branding” page and click the image in the video watermark section. Then, select your image from your computer and upload it.

Once you’ve uploaded your image, don’t forget to click on “publish” in the top right-hand corner to save your changes.

Always remember that anytime you make any changes to your YouTube channel, you have to click on “publish” to save all of your changes.
