How To Promote A Product: Affiliate Marketing On YouTube

So you found the perfect product and you’ve been promoting it. Are you getting a little discouraged because you’re not getting the sales that you want? Nine times out of 10, the problem is not the product, but it’s how much you’re getting it out there. And, this makes you wonder how to promote a product to actually make sales.

Not only do you have to get it out on different social media platforms, which I’ll be talking about next week, but you also want to present it in several different ways. In this article, I’m going to give you seven different ways you can promote the same product.

1. Create A Review

You can create a review either as a YouTube video, a blog post or even a podcast. In your review, you want to talk about the product and give a list of features. Then, you would include all the benefits of the product and all the neat things that it does.

Think about why someone would want to buy the product and then create your review around that.

You might also like to list who the products would be perfect for and even have 2 or 3 frequently asked questions in your review.

2. Create A How To Video Or Blog Post

The next piece of content you can create is a ‘how to’. This could be a tutorial on how to use the product or even a step-by-step guide on setting it up. As well as that, you can include some common problems that people may face while using the product and give solutions to those.

This type of content can be very valuable to people who want to purchase the product but are not sure how to use it. You could even call it a beginner’s guide.

3. Create A Comparison Post Or Video

Using this approach can lead to numerous pieces of content because I’m sure there are many comparison products to the one that you want to promote.

But remember to favor the product that you’re trying to promote in your content. Let’s say you’re comparing a Yeti microphone to a Snowball microphone. You would give all the features and benefits of both and then find a couple of features that one has over the other.

Then in your summary, you would suggest that the one you want to promote is the better buy and why. Obviously, you want to compare your product to slightly inferior ones and stay away from ones that may be better.

On the other hand, you could compare your product to a more expensive one and then suggest that yours is better value and more affordable. There are so many ways that you can approach this and so many different pieces of content you can create with this method.

4. Create A Listicle Of All The Pros And Cons

This is basically just like a review but done in a different way. Obviously, you want to have more pros than cons but this gives your audience a more believable review of the product.

Tip: It’s best to do some research before you create the video or blog post and write down all the pros and cons of the product that you can find online in different articles. This is a quick way to get all the information that you need.

5. Use The Word ‘Best’

For example, ‘the best video microphone’. Or you can do a comparison like ‘the 5 best microphones for YouTube videos in 2020’. You can even affiliate with more than one product in your comparison.

Therefore, you could create a really extensive review on 5 comparable products and include affiliate links for all five. Then, it doesn’t matter which one your customers buy because you’ll still get a commission.

So it’s entirely up to you if you want to promote all five products or just the one. However, if you’re promoting just one of the products, make sure that you make a clear recommendation for that product at the end of your content.

6. Create A ‘The Worst’ Video Or Blog Post

Here’s another novel way to promote your product. You can take a highly inferior comparable product and title your piece of content with ‘here’s the worst microphone I’ve ever used’. Then, you go on to say why and finally why you prefer the product that you’re actually promoting.

Include in that content how the product that you’re promoting is superior and how it solves the shortcomings of the ‘worst’ product. This type of content will attract an entirely different readership that you might not have attracted with the other content.

7. Create An ‘Unboxing’ Video

This is a great way to create some excitement around your product because people are always curious as to what others have purchased and what’s in the box.

Therefore, you can start your video by saying “I just received this product and I’m going to show you what’s in the box”. And then, you start ‘unboxing’ your product. This way people can see exactly what they’re going to get if they purchase that product.

Of course, once you’ve taken everything out of the box, you want to put it together and test it so your audience can see it working. People just love these kinds of videos.

I hope you found these 7 ideas for promoting the same product helpful. Remember that content is king and people aren’t going to follow you unless you provide them with valuable information.

Therefore, you have to keep giving them information, tips and education. This will keep them coming back for more. You’re answering their questions and providing solutions to their problems.

By promoting your products in so many different ways, you only need a few products to promote to make some valuable commission. But you can always expand with more products in your niche.

That’s what’s so cool about affiliate marketing. You can always find great products to promote to your audience in any niche that you choose. You can even use affiliate marketing as an add-on to any other business that you may have.
