How To Generate Sales Using Solo Ads + #1 Mistake Solo Ad Users Make

Let’s talk about how to generate sales using solo ads. Many of you have purchased solo ads but maybe you didn’t know what to do with them. Or, how they can help you generate sales?

It’s one thing to collect emails and have a list, but what do you do with it?

So, let’s look at firstly, how to purchase solo ads and then, how to use them to generate sales. Plus, I also want to share the number one mistake that people make when they purchase solo ads.

A Quick Lesson In Email Marketing

This is going to be a really quick lesson in email marketing. You want to put this system in place for your business. Even if you just have a YouTube channel and just want to make ad revenue, that revenue may not be enough.

Many people who have YouTube channels have other streams of income and email marketing is typically one of them. For example, let’s say that you have a channel about health and fitness. You have a lot of people following you and you’re teaching them how they can lose weight.

So, how would you use email marketing? Firstly, you want to set up a free offer, like a recipe book you’ve compiled, and start collecting emails. You can have a link to this free offer at the bottom of your YouTube channel.

When people click on this link, they’ll give you their email address and you send them the free book. You would set all of this up with an autoresponder. The one I like to use is Active Campaign but there are many others out there.

If you don’t know what an autoresponder is, you might like to check out this video that I created explaining it.

Once, people have given you their emails, these will be added to a sequence of emails that you’ve previously set up. In these emails you might offer different suggestions on exercises people can do. Or, different foods that are beneficial for weight loss.

Then, after a few initial warm-up emails, you might offer your subscribers a product that you think they would benefit from. Of course, you’ll have an affiliate link set up for this product so that you can earn a commission if any of your subscribers decide to buy one. The product could be a yoga mat that you found on Amazon.

Can you see how this is effectively another stream of income for you? But, you might be asking why we’re going to be talking about solo ads.

How To Purchase Solo Ads

The above method of collecting email subscribers takes time. And, I find that a lot of people will get discouraged by this.

That’s why purchasing solo ads is a good solution. You get far quicker results. You see, there are people out there who have collected huge email lists. They might have 300,000 subscribers and many of them have targeted email lists in certain niches.

So, these marketers decide that they want to sell part of their list to other people. However, they don’t just hand over lists of emails. They sell ad space in emails that they’re going to send to their list.

I’m going to explain how this works.

Buying Solo Ads On Udimi

One place I like to purchase solo ads from is Udimi. Bear in mind, that you still want to set up your own system to collect emails as well. And, you should set up a sales funnel too. I have a video about how to do that as well.

However, purchasing solo ads on Udimi will help you get results faster while you’re waiting for your own subscriber list to grow. And, to help you get started, if you purchase a solo ad from Udimi through my link, you’ll get $5 off your first purchase.

Once you’re logged into Udimi, you click on the link at the top that says “find seller”. Then there are certain filters you can select from. These include:

  • Price point
  • Niche
  • Ratings

When I select an ad seller, I want to make sure that they’ve already had sales and therefore, have some feedback.

To explain this further, when you select a seller, you then buy a certain number of emails from them. For example, you might purchase 100 emails from a seller at $0.65 each. So, that’s a total of $65 for 100 emails.

When I talk about whether a seller has had sales, I’m referring to the percentage of emails that have produced a result from the total number purchased. So, if you received a result from 30 of those 100 emails, the sales percentage would be 30%.

Next you can select which countries you want to target and which languages. The countries that are most likely going to give you the most return are Canada, the United States and Australia.

Once you’ve made all your selections, you’ll be presented with a list of sellers that meet your criteria. You then want to have a look at their sales percentage and their feedback.

Then, it’s simply a case of choosing a seller and purchasing your first set of ads.

This was exactly how I started building up my own email list. My first 2000 subscribers came from solo ads.

#1 Mistake Solo Ad Users Make

I want to share with you the number one mistake that people make when purchasing their ads. And this is really crucial.

Many people believe that when they buy these email lists, the subscribers are going to go into that email sequence that I told you about earlier. And, they think that they’re just going to start bombarding these people with emails that say buy this and buy that.

But, it doesn’t work like that. In fact, this is just going to make people unsubscribe from your list.

What you should be doing is building a relationship with your subscribers. You need to think to yourself, what am I going to do for these people on my list? What is it that they need from me? What kind of valuable content can I give them?

There are many different hints and tips that you can offer your subscribers depending on the niche that you’re in. You might even consider creating a mini course for a small fee that will help your subscribers with a problem they’re facing.

But you have to offer this slowly. Your subscribers want to get to know you first before they buy from you. In general, you have to give them valuable free information at least 7 times before they’ll trust you enough to make a purchase.

So don’t bombard people with sales emails. That’s the number one mistake people make.

How Do You Generate Sales?

Let’s look at how you can then generate sales from your subscribers.

First, you want to set up your campaign in your autoresponder. You then create a sequence of emails that are automatically sent to your subscribers. These emails should include valuable content and tools that will help your audience with whatever problem they’re facing.

Then, you can throw in some sales emails scattered throughout those emails. But, use these sparingly until you have a solid list of subscribers who are eager to hear from you.

It’s a process that you set up and will run on autopilot every time you get a new subscriber. For example, you can set up a sequence of say 40 emails that all subscribers will receive when they’re added to your list.

If you’re brand new to email marketing, I do suggest that you do this. This is because it’s a lot of work to create these emails individually each time you get a new subscriber.

That was exactly what I did when I first started. Now, I take one day a month and create four or five emails in one go. This means all my emails are scheduled for the month ahead and I can work on other things.

Hopefully this has been helpful to you and has explained how to use solo ads to increase your list of subscribers. Bear in mind though, that you won’t be able to just buy 100 emails and make a lot of money.

Essentially, you need a list of about 1000 to 2000 subscribers before you start generating sales. After that, sales become a numbers game. You have to reach out to a lot of people to find those that are going to buy from you.

To help you get started with your email marketing, here’s a link to a free email course through Active Campaign. You don’t have to sign up to use Active Campaign to get the course. It’s yours free of charge.
