Are you running out of video content creation ideas? Or maybe you’ve just set up your YouTube channel and you just don’t know where to start.
Who remembers the movie Field of Dreams? What was the motto? The tagline was – “Build it, and they will come”. Unfortunately, in marketing, it doesn’t work that way. You might have spent countless hours building your business and you have a great product that everyone should want. However, no-one is coming to buy.
Well, in marketing, the motto is – “Be them, and they will come”. And, of course, you’ve heard the saying “Content is King”. This means that if you keep feeding your visitors with new content, knowledge, tips and all kinds of good stuff, they’ll keep coming back. And eventually, they’ll buy from you.
To help you, I’m going to show you how to continue to create new content on a consistent basis. Just like I do on my video channel. I add new videos every Tuesday and Friday. This means I’m feeding you with great content so that you’ll also come back.
7 Different Ways That You Can Share Your Content
With these 7 ideas, I’m assuming that you already have your niche and some great products that you can promote. So, as you read these ideas, I want you to think about your niche and how these ideas can fit in with what you’re promoting.
1. Create A Tutorial For Your Product
Tutorials are very popular right now but how you create one, depends on your niche. Makeup tutorials seem to be really popular and there are many out there. If this is your niche, you can do some tutorials on how to achieve different makeup looks.
On the other hand, if you’re promoting health and fitness products, you could do some tutorials on different exercises and how to do them correctly.
What about if you’re promoting software tools. You can easily create some simple screenshare videos of how to complete certain tasks with the software. Therefore, think about your niche and how tutorials can fit within it.
You can’t go wrong with ‘how to’ videos, especially if you have a YouTube channel. People are constantly looking for how they can repair something themselves or how they can create something or achieve some kind of look.
2. Create A Review Of A Product
If you search on YouTube on ‘how to create a review’, you’ll come up with tons of search results. This is an easy one and can be done for almost any product imaginable. It’s simply a case of getting the product and then talking about it.
You can discuss all the different features and then also tell the audience the benefits that you’ve found using the product.
You can even do a number of reviews but structure them in different ways. All you have to do is do some brainstorming on how people would use the product and what kind of questions they would have about it.
Tip: Don’t post different reviews of the same product, one after another. Just jot down your ideas and every few weeks, create a slightly different review of the same product.
3. Create A Tour Video
Tours aren’t just travel related. You could do a tour of your office and how you’ve set everything up to function well for you. Right now, there are a lot of people working from home who would be keen to learn how others set up their dedicated office space.
These types of videos can garner a lot of views because, as humans, we’re naturally curious to see how other people live and work. So, don’t be afraid to share your little piece of the world with others.
4. Use Numbers In Your Content
For example, 15 beauty tips or 25 great tips to make your life more organized. These pieces of content are commonly referred to as listicles and people love them.
Personally, I like to keep my numbered tips to 10 or less. This leaves me room to create more content on all the other tips I have.
You could also give tips on what not to do. For example 5 mistakes YouTubers make or 5 deadly mistakes new YouTubers make. Don’t worry if there are already tons of videos out there on a similar topic because yours is going to be unique to your own style.
You can be even more explicit by using these examples:
- 5 mistakes you made when you first started your business
- Five mistakes I made when I used my microphone for the first time
- 5 mistakes I made when I used my camera for the first time
- Five mistakes to avoid when putting eye makeup on
- 5 mistakes people make when they’re giving a speech
Or how about these examples:
- The 5 best SEO tools
- The five best tools to use to change the oil in your car
- 5 best push-up techniques
- Five best hairstyle for a hot summer’s day
- 5 best clothing accessories that you need in your wardrobe
Notice how I use the word ‘best’ in these examples. If you keep putting out this type of content, people will keep wanting to come back to see what else you have. Therefore, if you keep giving people valuable tips, they’ll always want more.
So, keep thinking of different ways that you can give value to your subscribers to keep them coming back for more.
5. Tips And Tricks
Basically, you can do tips and tricks for anything. For example, tips and tricks for new YouTubers, tips and tricks for new dog owners or tips and tricks for the new guitar player.
Plus, you can also have tips and tricks for experts. Or you can have an entire series from beginner to expert and everything in between.
6. Questions And Answers
This is an easy way to create many pieces of content. Just have a list of Q and A’s for people in your niche. For example, a Q and A for new dog owners. Or how about, 25 questions that you may have about putting on a new makeup.
A lot of people will also hold Q and A sessions as a live stream on YouTube or even Facebook live. They schedule the session beforehand and let people know when it will be held. Then, when the session goes live, they just let people ask questions and then answer them.
If you’re going to do this, don’t be afraid to say – “Hey, I don’t know the answer to that but I’ll look it up and get back to you”. Remember, nobody knows everything and someone is bound to ask a question that you don’t know the answer to.
You can then go and do some research and even make a second video around the answer that you found.
7. What I Wish I Knew When…
This one is also quite popular. For example, ‘What I wish I knew when I first started in business.’ Think about all the mistakes you made in the beginning and share those stories with your audience.
This can lend itself equally well to any niche. For example, ‘What I wish I knew when I got my first puppy.
I hope you found these 7 video content creation ideas valuable. Write them down and then start brainstorming on how you can use these in your particular niche. You’ll soon find that you have a long list of content ideas that you can start working on right away.
