Are you looking for a way to grow your business? Maybe you have a brick and mortar store and you’ve been wondering how you can grow and get more customers. What if you have a business online and you’re just not sure how you can grow that business. Or, you’ve been working really hard for the last couple of years and it just feels like things are stagnant. Maybe you don’t have a business yet and you’re looking to start one online. I’m going to show you how you can use YouTube for business to grow or even to start a successful business.
3 YouTube Tips For Growing Your Business
I’m going to give you three tips and show you how people are actually using YouTube for business. And again, you don’t have to have a business online. You can have an existing business and utilize this to help grow it.
The first thing people ask is “how can I possibly even use YouTube for business?” Usually, when people go on YouTube, they’re searching for answers to questions. They’re searching for problems that they have and how to fix them.
For example, “how can I lose 10 pounds?” Or, “how can I make hand sanitizer?” Or, “how can I learn to crochet things like that?” But believe it or not, all of those questions can be turned into a business. You see millions of people using YouTube to help people lose weight. Some may own a gym and take their expertise onto YouTube to help people exercise at home.
Successful Businesses Using YouTube To Grow
I’m also going to show you some different businesses that you might not even think about where people use YouTube to increase their reach. However, one of the things that you need to learn is that just creating a channel and some videos isn’t going to help you increase your business.
In fact, creating a channel is easy. You can go to my YouTube channel and find a series of videos that teach you how to create your own channel and how to make videos.
But it doesn’t stop there. You have to get eyes on your business. And that’s what it’s all about. We call that traffic. You can call it your audience.

Knowing Your Niche
So, first of all, if you’ve already started a business, you already have a niche. Therefore, you already have a target audience. So, let’s define what a niche is for those who are not familiar with this term.
Your niche is what you’re trying to promote to people. What is it that your business does, creates or sells? Maybe your business could be how to lose weight. Maybe you’re in the health care industry. So your niche might be “how to do yoga after age 50” or “how to do yoga on the go”.
We live in a world where everybody wants everything to happen now and they’re on the go most of the time. So maybe your business could be targeting those people. That would be your target audience – the people who are on the go a lot. Therefore, they don’t have time to go to the gym.
They don’t have time to turn the TV on and watch a video. Maybe you could bring yoga to them on their iPhone every morning for 10 minutes. Therefore, they could do these yoga exercises at the local park and then go get their cafe latte afterward.
You can also help them to figure out where they have those 10-minute time slots for yoga. Alternatively, maybe they can do some exercises while they’re at work at a desk or standing in line somewhere.
This would be a great niche because people are looking for it. They want to be healthy but they always have that excuse that they don’t have time. So, you’re solving that problem.
Using YouTube For Business To Increase Your Audience
Now, we’re going to assume that you already have your niche and that you already have your target audience. So what we’re going to do now is use YouTube to get your audience looking at your business.
First, you want to do some research. There are over a billion searches conducted every day on YouTube and Google. Therefore, billions of people are searching for things every day.
Plus, there’s over 1 billion people that watch YouTube for at least an hour on a daily basis. Quite often, when they search for something they’ll get side-tracked and look at different videos. And, before they know it, they’ve been watching videos for an hour or more. I’m going to show you why this is important.

What Types Of Businesses Are Using YouTube?
Say you’re on Google and you’re searching “How can I make money online?” The search results will show you articles on the topic and also a selection of videos. Because Google owns YouTube, videos will always show prominently in search results.
So what if this is your niche? Maybe you want to teach others how to make money online because you’ve done it successfully yourself. This is an easy niche because lots of people are searching for it and it’s entirely operated online.
But, what about if you have a real estate business? You would normally equate that with an offline business because realtors need to show the houses they have for sale to potential clients. However, it’s easy to incorporate YouTube videos into this type of business.
I actually just met somebody who lives in South Carolina and shows his homes to potential clients on YouTube. And, they’re multi-million dollar homes. On his YouTube channel he lets you take a tour through the inside of the homes. This way, clients can see the homes without actually visiting them.
Even if people are not buying the homes, he’s going to start generating an audience online. Then, he could offer a course or something similar to his subscribers. He could offer advice to potential sellers and buyers on what to look for. In other words, he’s solving a problem that many people may have.
Another example we can look at is learning to play the guitar. This could be a good business for someone who is an expert guitarist or even someone who owns a music shop or rents out rooms for lessons. You could offer a series of videos on learning to play the guitar or even expert tips on guitar maintenance and care.

Tip Number 1: Include A Call To Action
The goal on YouTube is to get a lot of subscribers and a lot of views. Those are the secret things that you want to do to get more eyes on your business. So how is creating a channel and some videos going to increase your business?
Firstly, you want to include a call to action in your videos. You could include a link to your website for a free 10-day starter course or maybe, a free ebook. Of course, when someone clicks on that link, they’ll leave their email address to get the free download and you’ll collect their details.
Anytime you’re trying to grow your business, you need to grow a list of leads. In fact, every business should be doing this. Even brick and mortar stores. Have you ever been to Kohl’s and been asked for your email address? They collect your email so they can send you promotions to encourage you to buy from them again.
Once you collect someone’s email, they’re on your list and you can start sending them a newsletter, maybe once a week. This could include useful tips about your niche. Then, you might create a paid course that you can also promote to people on your list.
That’s how you can grow your business on YouTube when you include that call to action. You’re giving your viewers something for free which we call opt-ins or lead magnets. So from now on, start looking at videos differently. See what it is that they’re offering you for free. That’s their lead magnet. They’re trying to get your email address so that you can get something free.

Tip Number 2: Search Engine Optimization
Of course, you want to ensure that people are seeing your videos and you do that by using keywords. You want to make sure that you’re on page one of the search results with your chosen keywords by including them in your video title and description.
To help me with this, I use a Chrome extension called TubeBuddy. This helps with keyword research, search engine optimization and even analytics. I can even use it for comments and automatically reply to people.
Here’s a link where you can get it for free to check it out. I’ve also made a video on how to grow your channel. This includes tips on how to use TubeBuddy. Here’s the link.
The most important thing in growing your business is having more people see what you have to offer. The more people who watch your video, the more subscribers you’re going to get.
Now, not everybody’s going to hit your call to action. Some people are just going to subscribe to your channel and learn from you that way. These people are your targeted audience.
So now you have your targeted list of YouTube subscribers plus you’re collecting emails from people who click your call to action. What’s the third way of growing your business on YouTube? Actually, this often goes unnoticed but is well worth considering.

Tip Number 3: Using Suggested Videos
When you’re watching a video on YouTube, if you look over to the right, you’ll see other videos that YouTube is suggesting that you might be interested in. Suggested videos are very, very, very important.
In fact, at the end of your video, you actually have an opportunity to add end cards. In these end cards you can include your own videos so your viewers can see them.
Let me show you an example of why these suggested videos are so important. I went into my Analytics just from the last 28 days and almost 58% of my visitors are from YouTube searches. I’m not surprised by that because I do a lot of how-to videos, which is what people are looking for.
However, 24% of viewers are coming from the suggested videos. I’ll be honest with you. I didn’t realize until maybe a couple of months ago, just how important suggested videos were. So overall, you want most of your traffic from YouTube to come from these two places.
